I am comparing everything as a whole, that is using the YPAO etc. I believe the difference in sound quality is due to the superior quality DACs of the RX-A2000 compared to the RX-V1500. But bear with me, I'm basing this off a memory almost 10 years ago when I first purchased and installed the new (at the time) RX-A2000. I just remember that it was an upgrade in sound quality. My 2cents. BTW - If you have a 4K tv, this receiver is obsolete, no 4k pass-thru. Good Luck

It seems like most of the "comparisons" are done by memory from days to years ago.

I wouldn't trust memory from 10 minutes ago, much less 10 years ago. :D

LOL, good stuff man. But with your logic, court eye witness testimonies would be thrown out and criminal cases would be dismissed, serial killers would go free, mass hysteria.
Seriously thou, I'm still using the RX-A2000 and RX-V1500 models and can vouch for both. I'm currently really enjoying 2-channel Spotify on the 2000 right now. My wife uses the rx-v1500 to watch her soap operas and dance shows upstairs, I'm using the 2000 for music and movies downstairs. I'm not about to break up the systems for an apples to apples comparison. Good luck to you brother.
