Hi Alexis! It is not unusual at all. I guess it is your first time to see one like that. Basically, these kind of audio set up or subwoofers are made for a particular purpose. As you read it is for an outdoor tv which means these stainless steel audio setups or equipment are made for gardens, outdoor and any wide spaces because it is built to stand against any weather or so, stainless steel is durable. Going back to the question, no it won't affect the sound quality unless you decided to place it inside a room. It will still make a great sound but it's gonna hurt your ears lol jk.I hope it helps.
