Most ceiling speakers are 8 ohms and rated for 10-100 Watts, so I think 30W should work. But 30W x 2Ch into 8 ohms seems weak. I think it should still work, though, just for the Atmos ceiling speakers, especially if your ceiling height is about 10FT, not 20FT. :D

It depends on how far you are from those speakers, but 30 WPC does not inspire a lot of confidence. Why wouldn't you just use the Denon, if you only need 9 channels total?
A forgot to mention an extra 2 channels for a 7.1.4 as I am at 7.1.2 now. The ceiling height is only 8 feet being 2.4m.Thanks Peng

Loudspeaker power handling spec is 1 thing, but the key spec is sensitivity..
Hopefully it is @least 90dB.

Just my $0.02... ;).

Is separation the same as sensitivity as separation is listed in the specs as 70db.

Yea i think i will give the pioneer a miss and go with this. Its still in my budget https://www.customht.com.au/amc-2n100mkii2-150w-rms-stereo-power-amplifier.html
Well.....I don’t know. I’ve never heard of that amp. :D

So you’re using the Denon 10CH amp now - using 9CH.

That Pioneer Integrated is slightly low at 30W.

What about the Denon PMA-800 Integrated amp at 50W x 2Ch into 8 ohms @ 0.07% THD?

https://usa.denon.com/us/product/hifi/amplifiers/pma800ne

I bet at 0.9% THD, it should produce closer to 100W.

But for 8FT ceiling, those 4 ceiling speakers will be pretty close to you and assuming they are the typical 90dB/w/m with power rating of 10W-100W, I think the Denon PMA-800 will do great. And I bet the Denon PMA-800 matches the aesthetic of your Denon POA amp better too.

Another option is the Marantz 140W x 2Ch amp.

You’re using XLR cables? Both the Denon and Marantz amps have XLR.

Are your ceiling speakers as noted the Yamaha IC800s?
If YES they are rated @90dB sensitivity..
Separation is not a loudspeaker spec...

Just my $0.02... ;)

Would love to, but its a little expensive just to run 2 atmos speakers as in australia here they retail for $1199.00 plus i need some cash for the speakers as i have not bought them yet.But i know what i am getting being the Yamaha ic-800.Just using rca. Marantz is much the same.
