I currently have the Onkyo TX SR 706, I think I have had it for about 15 years, But I think its about to die on me, doing a lot of odd stuff, SO im looking for something that's around the $500 range that has some punch to it especially with pure audio...
I have Axiom M60's, QS4 Surrounds, VP150 Center and EP500 Sub.
Thanks

If you can get the denon x3400 or 4400 before they are gone, that would be my first choices. The yamaha advantage series in the same price points would also be an excellent buy.

I'm using the 3400 as a preamp only in a 2ch setup paying only $599 and have zero issues. At that price using the amps it's a steal.
Not to mention, IIRC the Axiom speakers are fairly easy to drive. Heard them a long time ago and was impressed. I would think that the X3400 would do a splendid job for the OP.

Cheers,

Phil
