Oh, you're doing Atmos 7.1.4?

It would be significantly more difficult for you to change from Denon/Marantz to anything else since you love XT32.

As for refurbished, it depends on the type of defects. If it's just HDMI boards, then that's an easy fix that even most incompetent techs in NJ could do. :D

If the problem is "NO OUTPUT", then forget about.

Maybe A4L only takes the refurbished Denon's that have HDMI issues, not "NO OUTPUT" issues. :D

And I have no idea how the Yamaha techs are with repairs if the AVRs do require service.

But with everything that M Code has been saying all this time plus my own personal experience, if any newbie wants to try Denon/Marantz, they might want to stick to the X1000, X2000, X3000, and X4000 on big discounts. It hurts 1000% less when the AVR is $300-$800, not $5-7K.
I don't ever buy refurbished electronics, probably never would. XT32 works for me, but I am open to Dirac, and I am still planning on trying out their 2 channel free trial, just too busy so far. If I like it, and if there are affordable ways to implement it on even just the main 5 to 7 channels, I will be freed to choice any viable alternatives to D&M's.

I brought a few refurbished, Sony bluray player BDP-S550 many years ago and still working however thou .... It was only region 2 now homes the funny part. I brought the same model again this year that was an All Region DVD but bluray still set at region B. When I powered it up no indication it had turned ON.

Okay now Opened it up and after inspecting it I found that the PSU was cracked at the corner enough for few components not able to flow the voltage to the player. Okay not problem and I wasn't even angry with the seller when pm-ing the seller I was far, too cool and polite as I knew I could resolve it by switching the PSU from other same BDP-S550 as I only wanted an All Region DVD and not bothered with region A bluray they soon get over to region B eventually and some USA bluray ofyen region free so not a big deal.

The first BDP-S550 was £100 some 6, 7 years ago and the All Region mod DVD with other one was £60 I think? And was later model out the factory when checking the date on players. And that is that on my opinion on refurbished items.
