Don't I know it.

Installed Foobar2K and was totally unimpressed with the default GUI. On a good note the sound hasn't changed thru the AVR. Maybe it was a placebo effect but it actually sounded slightly better. Don't know. I putzed around with it about 3 hours and got frustrated with enabling different features (skins, tagging, etc.). Went back to WinAmp but I know the day is coming.

... but I don't care. My new AVR showed up today & I'm going to go play.

From the FWIW department:

Re-installed WinAmp (v5.56) on the off chance that the Gracenote plug-in got corrupted/disabled (no change). Research revealed that WinAmp let their Gracenote license lapse. On a positive note WinAmp (AOL) was purchased by a Dutch firm Radionomy. I couldn't help but think of the little Dutch boy with his finger in the dike, saving the day.

So while the pulse is faint for WinAmp, the patient as of yet lives.

Foobar2K's standard skins have none of the functionality that I'm looking for but I found a site, DeviantArt, that has some I'd like to try. Like this one. phantom vs denon by phantommenace2020 on deviantART

Anyone out there have success installing developer skins for Foobar2K, like the one above?

I used to mess around with making foobar all pretty, but I got tired of it (I was changing skins damn near every week). Now I just use the default thing and it works great

I don't question that it works; it performs flawlessly. It's the how it works I have a problem with; never mind the aesthetics of it.

I'll just go back to manually entering the data, pre Auto-Tag days. It was a nice feature for single tracks. Most of the time I'm using Mp3tag for albums anyway.

I'm just gonna ride this llama to the end of the trail partner.
