Any input on high mounted "Presence" speakers vs ceiling mounted

Guessing 4.5 feet in front and in back of my recliners might work for me. My ceiling is 8.5 feet high and flat. That’s my guess at least. And as far as width, do I go pretty wide with them?

As far as width, Dolby says to go as wide as your mains but I think it’s more important to maintain the “X” and “square” over your head. As long as the difference isn’t super huge.

So basically assuming your ears are roughly 3’ off the ground, your distance to the ceiling would be 5.5. So 5.5 fore and aft of the Mark. So if your mains are 11’ apart they would line up nicely!

Okay I might be able to mock it up Friday. I don’t have a laser level though.

Saw this thread had to check it out now I gotta jump aboard. Talked to Howard at RSL after sending him pictures and measuring those ceiling spots will work from what's he's saying. Helps the ceilings only 10 ft not 14 it sure looks a lot dang higher lol. My angle will be The same about 5.5 Front and back. The surrounds will need to go down but he says it'll work for now with where they're at just not as well as Id like till I drop them on stands. Man I can't wait to hear those C34E's this weekend's going to be fun!

Sweet! Ya I’m going to have to finish some more rooms of flooring before I install speakers or my GF will lose it. :) I’m using this delay as “tackling fuel” like in water boy! :) It’s going to be my reward. I have a bunch of Atmos and dtsx movies as well as my Apple 4K TV that is updated and ready for Netflix atmos shows and movies.

Spell check turned dont into forever? You either need a new spell checker or an AA meeting.
