Considering its feature set, its not extravagantly priced. This is all assuming everything works as advertised. That is a hell of a feature set and I would not be surprised if it wasn't working perfectly at launch.
It crossed my mind too right away, that it wouldn't be bug free at launch, or even long after. I have had my ex Marantz flag ship prepro for a long 5 years and 3 months with quite a few fm updates, before demoting it for stereo use, and still have not tried all the features so I can't guarantee "everything" was working perfectly, let alone Emotiva.. There are just way too much that can go wrong, and unless one uses all of the features extensively and frequently, one may not notice, whether that matters or not is a different story.
I can't think of one reason why I would spend that much on a prepro, not even if I had a billion, because then I would want to spend more.
