CSW T300 Subwoofer thump problem

I have a Cambridge Soundworks T300 - beautiful speakers and I love them. One problem has emerged though: the powered subwoofer on one side has started to make what seem like random thumping sounds when I power it up. It does this even when no signal is present. (i.e. when it is only plugged into the power) It's not a problem characteristics of a blown subwoofer I don't think, and I am at a bit of a loss. Does anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks!

I have this problem on 1 of a pair of T300 speakers I just inherited. I know this is an old thread but does anybody have suggestions solutions or updates ?

Answer would be pretty much the same as before. When the amp starts to thump with no signal, it often relates to an amp potentially going bad.
