left channel weak

have a yamaha rx-v2095, rarley used, all cables and speaker wire correct polarity, suddenly left channel has gotton so weat, one can only hear if put ear on cones, or touch and feel vibration, i have pluged left speakers in right channel, then they work fine, plugged right spk. into left ch. same low output, before i change this rarley used amp. out, does anyone have any sugg. where else i may trouble shoot

Obviously there is something seriously wrong with the left channel amp. At the age of that receiver it is not worth repair.

Age has far more impact than use on whether electronics will fire up.

You need a new receiver.

I assume you are using HDMI, but should still try using another input just to be sure it is not source related. You can also try a microprocessor reset and see what happens.

If you have a two channel analog source it would be advisable to test with that, using a "direct" mode that doesn't employ the unit's DSP (digital sound processor.) That would test only the power amplifier section and rule out a problem within the DSP.

By swapping the speakers R&L there's no question it is the left channel that is the culprit, so if it is the same for all sources, then it is the receiver.

Is this one of the components you have daisy chained together? With your rather unorthodox setup, it's hard to troubleshoot the possibilities.

I do have the exact replacement rx-v2095 i purchased 6 month's ago, i can exchange rec. God i hate to do this this equipment was professionally installed, i rarley used it, let alone much use of on screen menus, had 78" Samsung tv. Also professionally installed digital input, havent done much other than try a zone box, did not like, took off. Using only main spkeaker amp. Outlets as i said i switched left weak speakers to right channel, they worked great, as for age, i have rec. Such as sta-2000 realistic, and other much older rec. They work fine, i find it hard to believe age is the culpret, especially on a 12000 yamaha? The only thing i know now is to exchange rec. The rec. Is on bottom rack, my mobility is limited, oh well this. Old dude has to do something, i noticed the problem, when some of the subs. Seemed low also,perhaps that was in my head, anyways you guy's, and this site has proved invaluable thanks much, guess i should stick to the old two channel amps.

Also i do have a eq-500 inline, i don't suppose that could messed up

Don't quite know why, but after a few adjustments in menu, left and right channel equal again,scarry huh

not sure, also i unpluged and re/plugged,eq., could be a contact, but i did notice pro logic on menue, usually i do not use pro logic setting, however it sounded the same, so i'm watching a few day's, also the rack has been pulled out, perhapes something was not making good contact, but it wasn't speaker wires, for left spk. worked fine on right channel, but for now, it's working, if goes out again, i will use my other rx-v2095, thank's for asking
