Today Gibson Corp. announced they are selling off Euro distribution of Onkyo, Pioneer, Integra, Teac and Esoteric to Aqipa as they struggle to balance their books while in Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Aqipa is a distributor based in Austria, of high-end accessory products in the consumer electronics field throughout Europe and is engaged in selling world-class audio brand products worldwide. This transfer includes all employees and service systems. Aqipa is a broad-based distributor who serves many channels, product segments, and outlet types from small shops to technology superstores and large key accounts, both e-tail and retail. They handle a wide-range of products from consumer electronics to telecommunications and fashion. Aqipa has more than 300 employees throughout Europe with offices in Germany, Spain, Italy, France, Netherlands, and Belgium.
Gibson further advised that Aqipa is already well positioned to both distribute and increase sales of the Onkyo, Integra, and Pioneer brands. Aqipa presently sells JBL, Denon, B&O Play, Beats by Dr. Dre, Polk, Definitive Technology, Focal, LG, Marshall and Pioneer DJ. Also noted is that all sales operations from POE will be transferred to Aqipa, including all employees and service systems..
