Hi all ,
Looking for some direction. I just bought ( used) a Denon AVR-2310CI, no remote . I hooked my HD cable box ( xfinity) to it using a hdmi cable. Put it in the port named sat/cable , took another hdmi cable plugged it into the port named “ out to monitor” made sure my receiver input was set to say/cable.
Nothing, no audio or video , I tried all other ports , nothing .
My old Sony receiver was hooked up and worked fine, I unhooked the denon and used all the same hdmi cables yo the Sony and worked perfect. No do I have to turn a setting on in the denon to use hdmi ? Also prior to all this I plugged the cable box into the denon and tested all the speaker ports and got sound from each port.
I’m lost :(

So what happened between the Denon working and not working? Did you try a full/microprocessor reset?

I did not , I don’t know how to do this reset ? Unit didn’t come with a manual.

Did it, unit flashed a few times but still nothing.
If you did the reset properly and it is still not working then there is a good chance the unit is defective. Have you tried the other inputs, such as optical, coax and analog (RCA)? Your cable box should have the basic rca outputs, the red, white for audio and yellow for video. If it works on those then the HDMI board may be defective.

If the hdmi inputs are assignable with that unit, you may have to tell it what's what even know they are labeled. I5 should be in the manual...

Seriously, I have no life.
You need a remote. It is pretty tough to set up a receiver without a remote.

Even so I suspect you likely have a dud.
