I think EMO is changing their “status” with the upcoming $5K AVR and Pre-Pro.
So I realize I am being a bit biased and harsh by saying I don’t consider them along with the other big boys who have been around for longer and are bigger.
It’s just that I still hear issues about their pre-pro - like taking over a minute to power up, which is risible. I mean even a $200 AVR can power up fully ready to play in 5 seconds!
And then there’s that bright blue cheese every time you look at them.
Cut the cheese and get with the power-up-time program already.
And change the name from EMO to something more high-end, which I could say the same for Monoprice.
Anyway it’s just mainly personal bias stuff.
At the end of the day, after it takes an eternity to power up, their amps and pre-pros do sound as good as any in Direct Mode (I say “Direct Mode” because I think Dynamic EQ is the best
).
So you think Dynamic EQ is the best huh?. All AVR units, have that in some format or another. It's ok, with some sources be it a CD, movie, Blu-ray, or My personal favorite Vinyl
. Dynamic EQ helps Vinyl out a lot
. sometimes.
Anyways, as for Emotiva, not in the beginning of their start. When they where getting into , processors, pre pro unit's I do remember "Dan" the owner of Emotiva found out he had a 'Mole' so to speak that was sabotaging, espionage,
, had a Gremlin
,creeping around. Dude was fit to be tied!
. As for the blue 'Kool-Aid', zingy, some mice like a slice of cheese I guess.
. I have had Amps back in the day that had bigger gonads
. Audio/Video business isn't as cut and dry as many would like to believe. Talk about someone's gear, or company you could get a knife in your back so to speak.
. Cutthroat I tell you..
PS, ADTG, checkout my New Avatar, see them little Dolls with the pins in them?. Just made a few of them myself.
. I'm sure You know who's first on my list to get 'Prick'-ed,
first?
You would be right if You guessed 'Luv'ey.
. Now all I gotta do is run down to n'awlins and find that VOODOO
Priest to work his black Magic, sprinkle some dust from a died man's ashes
, roll some chicken bones
and pour some of t Pirate John Lafitte
whiskey over the died mans ashes.
Why you guys think I'm selling off my XPA-5. and meeting the buyer up in the Big Easy.
VOODOO isn't free!
Sometimes they want a year or two off the backend of your life span.
, This time it's only going to cost me 4 bills.
.
