Hello Guys,

Received my Marantz SR7011 today. It sounds great. Yet to connect it to my Power amp.

Just a small doubt. Do I have to change any setting in the AVR inorder to take the pre out from it to my adcom amp?

Planning to power the LCR & Surrounds using the Adcom.

Thanks

Yes, you need to level match the Adcom to the SR7011. Either run Audyssey again (preferred) or do it manually with the help of a good sound meter.

Which Adcom model? I used to have an Adcom GFA555 connected to my Denon AVR pre outs one time and also a couple of Marantz prepros at other times. To level match with any of the AVR and prepros, I had to increase the level of the L/R channels by about 1.5 dB.

I am using GFA 7000 . Yet to run Audyssey. I hope I do not have to change any impedance settings on the AVR.

If you are careful on the volume dial, you may get better performance using the 8 ohm setting. Manufacturers have to provide the low impedance setting to meet certain safety standards.

As of now i javent changed it anything. I suppose the default impedence set on the avr will be 8 ohms. Will try running audyssey and tell the difference.

I would think 8 ohm is the default as well. When you run Audyssey, follow instructions to the letter, use all 8 positions, and don't be shy to sit the mic up high enough (2-3 inches) to well clear the top of any high bench of your couch, and point to the ceiling. In addition to setting up the distance, levels, crossovers, XT32 Sub EQ HT can do some other good if run properly.
