Got my Pioneer vsx 832 I have a question about the mcacc auto setup feature

I used the mcacc auto setup and I thought it would change my eq to match my room. I only have the basic mcacc in my receiver and can set it up myself. It would just save me time. However my setup is only 2.1. My center and surround channels wont be delivered till tomorrow. Is that why it wont calibrate it or is it not included in the base mcacc feature?

Not sure what has happened. Are you saying after MCACC it sounds the same or measures the same for frequency response? What didn't calibrate? It didn't match the level of your sub to speakers? It won't do a lot for a 2.1 setup as there's not much to do....might wait until you have all your speakers and then run it and report back....

I get the rest of my speakers today. However I read the eq calibration with mcacc is 2d on my receiver not 3d like the higher end units. I don't really know what that means though...

Haven't had an MCACC unit for a coupla years, but not sure what 2d/3d refers to, don't remember that terminology.

Ok hours later everything is hooked up. I forgot the mcacc is separate to the 9 band eq. I turned it off listened then turned it back on. I think I noticed a small defference. The only other surround receivers I have had were Yamaha with ypao auto setup or something like that. It was the same I think. So basically I think the eq is actually working. Sounds clean with even bass not too boomy. Thanks for the help.
