I'm a big fan of the Silverback style banana plugs. These were used by Rotel for years and I loved the extremely secure connection you get from the double set screw design. Other designs were prone to client issues of cables falling out, or being overly bulky. Plus, the plastic surround insulates the metal connector from having potential shorts.
If you have a small screwdriver that you can get some force behind and a set of wire strippers, they are incredibly easy to use. I have hundreds of them and I swear by them.
They accept up to 4mm cable, they claim, which is larger than 7 gauge cabling. So, it should have no issue with 10 gauge.
