New receiver purchase. please help

I purchased a Pioneer SC-1522-K receiver back in 2013 from Costco for $599.99 (original price was $1,599.99). Unfortunately, I've encountered the dreaded UE22 error code on this receiver. When I originally bought this receiver I was powering a 3.1 setup, however, now I have a 7.2 set up as follows:

Dual subwoofers: SVS PB-1000
Front channels: Monitor Audio Bronze 6
Center channel: Monitor Audio Bronze center
Surround channels: Monitor Audio Bronze FX
Surround Rear channels: Monitor Audio Bronze 1

I have a 65" TV, HTPC, cable box, PS4, and a bluray player connected to the receiver via hdmi cables. My family and I watch movies and gaming, but about 70% of the time I spend it listening to music from the connected HTPC.

Before this receiver had this error and stopped outputting audio, I had no complaints and was very pleased and happy with its performance. I am interested in installing ceiling speakers for Dolby Atmos, but that upgrade is far into the future. Torn between a 7.2-ch or 9.2-ch receiver. I would like to find a receiver that is either equal in capability or greater than the current SC-1522-k 9.2-ch that I am replacing. Also 4k is important.

I am considering the Pioneer SC-LX701, Pioneer SC-LX801, Marantz SR7011, Denon AVR-X4400H or last choice the Pioneer SC-LX502.

But I'd contact the actual vendor - EE and ask them to lower the price to $550 as they recently had sold these on Newegg at that price.
Both Amazon and EE are D&M authorized resellers, so you'd get full 3-year Denon warranty.

Don't worry about "losing" few watts: you old Pioneer was rated at less scrupulous [1khz and higher thd allowance), so even if Pio is shy from providing 20-20 with very low noise power spec, I believe they are extremely close.

I'd won't worry too much about AVR. If you get upgradesis bug, I may suggest humbly to start speakers auditioning.

Measurements look ok, but I prefer more accurate speakers, ie: with more flat response

Amazing you want to stick with Pioneer after you got screwed. My last Pioneer avr died after 2 years and they're off my list for that (as well as the Onkyo purchase). I'd go with the Denon.

I think the $550-$600 Range is a good price point. At least you didn’t have to pay more on the Pioneer.

I agree that the Denon X3300/3400 for $550-$600 is the best deal these days.

Regardless of which AVR you buy, I recommend getting dual AC Infinity 120mm fans ($20 for 2 fans) to ventilate the heat - I place the fans atop the AVRs to pull heat up.

The Denon X3400H is around $999.98 and its not 9.1. If I did find that one for around $600 I would definitely consider it by also purchasing an amp in the future for when I decide to go Atmos.

X3300W is a previous model with minor changes. Yes, it 7.2 AVR, not 9.2, but then again your budget doesn't really allow for Atmos ready 9.2 AVR. So adjust the budget or accept 7.2 system.
Call Electronic Expo and see if they would honor the deal from last week where X3300W was sold for $550 on NewEgg.
Atmos would be personally least interest to me. If I had disposable income I'd focus on improving my speakers, subs, and room in this order. Electronics are least of my concerns. I have almost 10-year-old AVR and it's missing entirely 3D, 4k, HDR and a whole bunch of other new techs, but guess what - it works perfectly fine.

Thank you for taking the time to reply. I apologize if I gave you the impression that I had a budget of $600. That is what I paid for my previous receiver. I am trying to stay within the $1200.00 range.

I just hate to feel like I am taking a serious step back in replacing the pioneer.

When on sale throughout the year, the X3000 series are $599 and the X4000 series are $799 Brand NEW.

That’s a good price for a brand new Denon X4400H, which is much better than the LX801 IMO.

But realize that by this Summer, the X4400 May be on sale for $799 brand new on Amazon or Fry’s or Electronics Expo.

Looks like the same price for the 2070 also. I never considered the Yamaha but, its a nice looking receiver and I read up on it's features.Seems like a great receive but I saw that it doesn't have the Sabre Dac like the pioneer LX801.
