the other day i found an old pair of speaker cables in the attic (acoustic research ms320) and i noticed the bananas are bent needless to say they will not stay in place if i connect them i was hoping to find a replacement set of banana ends (ms807) but these things are old and i can not find them online i thought to ask here if anyone has them in their attic or in a box in a closet anyway let me know and we'll work something out

Never saw ones like that nor aware of that brand of cable. These some super heavy duty gauge cables where they need some special fitting like that? Got pics of the cable/fitting?

I'd just snip the post on the cable that those thread onto and start with a fresh banana plug. I like these. Some like others....no magic in a banana plug except convenience (or maybe security, there are locking banana plugs, too).

You try simply straightening those instead?

if i can not find the original ones i will go with something like that.

they are fat wires, 10ga. the wire end screws on like other banana plugs and squeezes the wire in place.

as for bending them back well it's worth a try.

i even went to their website and emailed them but it's been about a month.

Yeah 10g may have trouble fitting into some bananas. The Silverbacks should work, tho.

I much prefer the dual set screw (yes you need a small screwdriver) over any of the wire crimping types (as the crimped types IME aren't as secure at holding the cable in) thus my preference for Silverbacks (have also used the single set screw Maestro). Haven't had any particular need for a locking type, tho.

Blue Jeans Cable Locking Banana Plugs are tool free, aren't they? Well, I do use a screwdriver to snug up the 2 set screws. (Grub screws to our UK based friends.)

I thought Acoustic Research was long out of business.

Looks like it was bought by Voxx Accessories. They sell a lot of odd-looking Bluetooth speakers.

i've been using these cables since 1999, moved houses four times, and still locked in place. maybe they are 10ga and that makes them fit better?

The wire is 10g, not the connector. They don't look like a locking type....how did they lock in place? Or did they just fit very tightly?

well i guess the connector is also 10ga because the wire feeds through it and it bends back for the cap to squeeze it and locks it downd in place i guess it's a double feature
