The amazon one had good reviews . And after watching Genes video about cable shams, especially audioquest. I dont want to waste money either. LHD suggested the idea of using my old single ones (buy adapter good idea) but i need them for another bedroom small setup from extra equipment lying around.

I guess for $8.99 I don’t feel like that’s a cable sham. (I wouldn’t spend 30) Construction quality is very nice. There are plenty of snake oil scams out there , but these don’t qualify. As for reusing the old ones with a new adapter, that would be fine too but since you disqualified that then you have that answer.

Thanks William, is there a difference in signal degradation from 15 feet as opposed to their 8 feet? just curious, 8 feet is what I was most likely going to get. Going with the amazons. Is there any materials in terms of build quality on them you that would concern you. Fospower has them around the same price as well you ever heard of them?

No, you won’t find any degradation in those two distances. I’ve not heard of fospower but will look. And no, there are no glaring offenses in the Amazon construction. In fact the ones I have are very decent quality.

Another question, may be an amateur question. I use banana plugs for all my applications. I want to run rear surrounds in a better spot (higher, wife wants them out of the way). Distance is about 25 feet from from the amps (back of room obviously). I dont want to buy more 12 gauge wire 40 bucks minimum for a spool. I'm five feet short for each speaker but I have the exact same speaker wire that would cover the distance needed small pieces left over from original set up. Is OK practice to splice, twist and electrical tape the extensions together, still banana plugs on the ends, is there some kind of connector i can get to join the speaker wires. Please any recommendations I want to avoid the cost of more wire
Thanks...

You CAN use twists and electrical tape, but I would not. I wouldn’t recommend wire nuts and tape either, but it would be better than nothing. If you have to make a splice, IMO you’ll be fine, but I would use a crimp style butt connector. Every Walmart or auto store will have some and even if you need to buy a multipurpose crimp/strip tool, they’re cheap. You can even get some that heat shrink.

I bought my last 12g spool for $60 (300 ft), altho best price I see at moment is $75....it always comes into use eventually. https://www.amazon.com/Monoprice-Enhanced-Oxygen-Free-Copper-Speaker/dp/B001UNLV22?psc=1&SubscriptionId=AKIAILSHYYTFIVPWUY6Q&tag=ad-backfill-s-20&linkCode=xm2&camp=2025&creative=165953&creativeASIN=B001UNLV22
