Marantz SR6009 AVR - Sub Settings

I'm trying to learn my way around the recently purchased Marantz SR6009. The 290 pg manual has been a little help but after a 15 min setting with it...it starts to give me a pounding headache.

Currently when receiving a stereo source from Direct TV (example) Old Mtv music videos, I'm only getting playback out of my front mains....In this case I'd like to get a signal to the Sub as well. Is there anyway that I can get a signal out of the Marantz SR6009 AVR to my sub's in stereo? I have yet to hook up my CD player but now I'm thinking that the subs are not going to receive a signal from it either...which is crazy.

Any settings I can change in the Marantz to achieve a sub signal when the receiver is receiving a stereo source?

Are your speakers set to small?

Actually I have the Front Mains set to large but center channel is set to small.

Set them to small and it should work.

What William said... there are some good audyssey setup guides available if you want to get the most out of your setup. Once your up and running good let us know and we can help tweek things
