Hi All

Does anybody have any experience with Canton subs? For eg. the AS 85.2 SC... Are they any good? How do they perform compared with other budget subs?

Thanks

I wouldn't bother with their subs unless you are getting an incredible discount. They probably aren't bad subs, but they look to be over-priced to me, at least in terms of what they could possibly offer along the lines of performance. They are very pretty, though.

@shadyJ, 'very pretty' as in, aesthetically pleasing to the eye so if your a married guy the wifey will go, oh okay at least it matches my white carpet.:D. But really I didn't read anything special about their subs. Now their towers I do believe are of a different animal. But at full price they are over price like most speaker's are. But what happens if by chance you need service? :(. Could be a deal breaker.

If you get them from a4l they're not bad, but honestly, an A/B comparison between even their Vento series and the Klipsch Reference Premeire series, I found the Vento just matched the sound quality of the Premeire. For $349 open box for the Rp-160m vs the $800 Vento, it's a no brainer. The klipsch is a better deal, and it plays louder and digs lower than the Vento.

@KEW has experienced the two side by side as well, and can add his input.
