Velodyne HGS-15 problem with accelerometer

Sub was making a fluttering buzzing sound and when you tap the cone, it would stop temporarily. Remove the accelerometer from the cone and need help on what to do to get this going again. I was told an accelerometer could be built if none were available. What can I do?

What model? Why did you take the accelerometer from the sub? Is it physically broken? Have you contacted Veleodyne to see of they still have parts for this sub and still service the unit? Who told you you could DIY the accelerometer?

Pictures of the problem would help a great deal. You would have to be telepathic to help you with the minimal information you gave. If you want help you have to do a lot better than your post.

I have a feeling it is new sub time for you.

Can pretty much guarantee there are no parts or hope of fixing unless you know someone who can rebuild the driver. I was gifted a 12" version some years back and even with Velodyne local, they were of little help, offering only schematics to possibly help get it repaired.

Upgrade time.

A 16 year-old sub has lived it's life. Your lucky that it made it this far as those amps were troubled. I went though a few of them. They never acknowledged the issues and had them worked out on the early DD series.

I own a Velodyne HGS-18. I had a problem with the sub making a very loud humming noise. I removed the amplifier plate and sent it to Velodyne they repaired it a few years ago with no problems since. I reached out to Velodyne recently just to see if they still provided this repair service and was told they no longer do. I did some search on the internet and found this place that works on the Velodyne sub-woofers. This is the site give them a call they are very friendly and helpful. https://www.ebcelectronics.com/
