My experience: My best friend's brother works in the UK, he's an exec (VP, Mergers & Acquisitons) at a French bank's London HQ. His house is the one pictured on the cover of Rattus Norvegicus by The Strnglers. He paid 8 million pounds for it 20 years ago. HT in the house and the guest house. So I know that people in the UK do this kind of stuff, and do excellent work.
