Volume...room filling? not just turning up the dial, after new AVR

I meant the setting on the back of the sub. All of them I've seen the have the low pass filter maxed out at the sub so the DSP crossover in the AVR or pre-pro has control.

Gotcha, I took it to mean current settings as well as he's got the LPF on the sub set to about 100hz now; mentioned that earlier and the OP responded "If I set either the top or middle dial to max on the subwoofer it would blow the windows out. Not doing that."

I am trying to follow the advise put forth...not sure if a friendly disposition is among my better attributes.

Reset the AVR to factory/initialized, did the firmware update and ran Audyssey with the Sub Low Pass maxed.
Also noticed one tiny little line that mentions maxing the low pass in the HUGE pdf manual I downloaded.

Now I see where the Bass ON/OFF is the Audyssey, is actually where I was getting the 4bd change.
So you where right on that, lovinthehd.
I didn't notice that you can see the setting after you run Audyssey.
Now it looks like the sub is at -8.5db with the low pass maxed.

It seems like the sub is now running almost all the time, even outputting voice...which I don't really care for... tv commercials are the worst. Didn't seem to do that with the low pass centered.
I did set speakers to small, crossovers to 80hz and the sub to 150.

....more fiddling.

If your sub seems to be on all the time and getting the voice thing I suspect you've got the LFE setting to "LFE+Main" instead of just "LFE" since your mains are set to large. I'd change your left right and center speakers to "small". Start with a crossover of 80 for all speakers, experiment from there.

ps Rigid fork just for the trainer?

Its is set to all small, 80hz and just the LFE...no +main. The pics are how Audyssey set it.


That is just the house bike.
Slapped it together with a $150 frame and a bunch of old cheap parts I had in the garage. Was maybe $550, no suspension but it only weighs 27lbs.

Ah, was taking the pics of the setup to be current. So you changed them in manual speaker setup afterwards? You changed back to the Audyssey settings just for a pic or already had them? Bit confused there....

Next I'd suspect the corner placement of the sub, try a different location, perhaps along the wall on the left of the tv?

Actually electric would be my choice these days. Two strokes are smelly and noisy, ruins the singletrack experience for me, altho they are generally considered the same for trail legality (we have quite a bit of singletrack that's open to both).

Nice! I've been considering a pre-built to make trail work access a bit easier with a complement of tools, maybe converting one of my other mountain bikes since I have several candidates out in the garage....

ps You get less sub localization by changing the center crossover to 60 or 40?

Yeah this is a bike you can ride/pedal or just twist the throttle. Also stealth was part of my bike build.

I like real motors on bikes too but I seem to get hurt more on them than the eBike. Not saying I haven't gone over the handle bars...lol.

I will try the center at a lower hz. So many settings...

I was going to ask if you had a build thread, thanks! I've borrowed a Raleigh Tekoa, a pedal assist front suspension "mountain" bike for a few weeks use from our local shop, really liked it for running around town, trail not so much but only used it a few times on a shortcut to the house trail rather than some of our better single track, didn't really trust it all that much to haul it too far away (thing wasn't well geared to pedal uphill without assist!). One of our local trail builders recently got a reward for his long hours from Specialized in the form of a Turbo Levo FSR, pretty sweet rig. Keep meaning to fix up my moto again, but think I'm more likely to hurt myself on that these days....

That site 'endless-sphere' has all the dirt on pretty much any electric anything...great forum, like here its a bunch of peps that are really into their hobby...is audio a hobby? I think so.
The batteries just keep getting better, that really helps.
This is my 3rd eBike build...DOH! also my favorite

You mean your sub delay adjustment was ideal at the physical distance rather than a measured by Audyssey distance? What happened to your sub's inherent delay?

Obviously there wasn't one or it wouldn't have introduced a null that was solved by manual adjustments. Audyssey frequently will misinterpret the subs location due to standing waves reflecting off the back or side walls in smaller rooms, and this isn't the first time it's done that to me, often I can redo the calibration again using the same mic position and get entirely different results.

Not sure if mentioned before, your center speaker will do better if placed higher up.

XOs are not brick walls, with XOs set to 80 Hz, you bound to hear human voice, especially male voice.

I will have to get some kind of wall mount for the TV. Directly under the TV is a in wall electric heater, Kadet heater. Next on the list...wall mount...

I think turning the center to 40hz did help the sub interaction some, I need to listen to it some more.
Made the center louder/harsher though.
