I was looking at something like this to replace my existing power strip. Would this work for all the equipment listed in my sig or do you think I'd be pulling more amperage than it could handle?
The one I linked is rated up to 20amp, so no problems. I use them in rack systems all the time no problem.

I dont think I need a 20Amp model. I live in a townhouse and I cannot really crank it. I would buy the 3ft, 9 plug version as I want to hide this bar behind the console unit. I would use all 9 plugs though

So that was pretty brave of @3db to post a pic of a nest behind an entertainment center. Maybe we should have a thread(or maybe there is one) for us all to share our nests, untouched. I know I could use some inspiration lol.

No nest here :D but it still would take me the same amount of time to add multiple pieces of new gear. A lot of zip ties to clip, and redo if other than IEC cords and HDMI

I'm a huge cable management nerd, but man, sometimes I hate to admit how I just didn't have time to do it right and I've ended up with birds nests like that too. Always only on my own setups though. Never on a customers'. Haha.

Next time I set my gear up, I am going to take all day to make it look purty...and easy to work with of course. :)

I hear you guys. I’m a fan of zip ties and wraps too. But for some reason I always end up with a nest of sorts, and every spring I go and pull out my entertainment center and vacuum, and dust and reroute things but it always ends up the same. It’s like the mechanics car. Last one fixed...

Wiring is never easy. I still don't like what I have but I will post new pics. Its a slight improvement only.

My problem is in my knees lol. Just had a meniscus repair on November 7th (multiple surgeries on same knee since 06). Bought a mechanics stool last summer with 300lbs lift / lower because I would spend a week in bed after anything that requires me getting up n down. Being ADD I was up n down a lot.

I hear that too. I’ve had knee issues but luckily no surgeries. Also have L-4 and L-5 problems as they seem to move out of place so hunching over an av rack can take me out for awhile if I don’t stop to recognize.

The after picture Slight improvement but not much. I'm gonna stare at it for a while and see what I can do to clean up further;

I want to leave enough slack so that I can pull that unit away from the wall enough to get a vaccum cleaner soft brush attachment back there to suck up the dust bunnies that collect during the week. LOL

Can’t believe I’m doin this...

It’s driving me insane!!!!! But I’m waiting until I get my new x4300/x4400 and ceiling speakers to go through my nest again. Hopefully within a month I’ll be tearing it al out. Also might build a new entertainment center out of some “reclaimed” wood we have so who knows when I’ll get to it. I’ll just turn it up, then it won’t matter!

We have a rag doll cat, who’s not “messy” really, but it’s amazing where I find fur.

I appreciate the humility, William. Don't beat yourself up too bad, though. We've all been there, my friend. We've all been there. :(

Mine is pretty bad now, was worse before. Fortunately I don't see it from the front as the wall is dark grey. I think that helps me not mind as much!

If I add that 3ft wall mounted power bar and get the other power bar out of there, then it would tidy things up alot. Question is, should I spend the money on this? After all it is outta sight but not outta mind. :oops:
