Sub help used Adam sub 10 mk2 or BK XXLS400
Hi i looking into upgrading my audio setup by adding a subwoofer.

My current setup is ELAC B6 at front, Elac B5 as rears powered by Denon avr x2300w.

The two subs i'm looking at is the:

BK XXLS400 : http://www.bkelec.com/hifi/sub_woofers/xxls400df.htm

OR

Adam Audio SUB10 MK2: https://www.adam-audio.com/en/subwoofer/sub10-mk2/

The Adam Audio is used and will be about £100 to £120 pound cheaper than the BK XXLS400 at £449, the adam audio is around £849 brand new.

I use my setup from Music, Films and gaming, just wondering which is the better option thanks.

My guess is that the Adam sub will have more deep bass output, but the BK subs will have more output above 40 Hz. I would probably swing for the Adam Audio sub since you will be watching movies and games. If it were just music, I would go for the BK sub.

Just posted the opposite. I'll look closer at the Adam specs

Now I'm not sure, OP deleted

I initially would've guessed the opposite. The Peerless 835017 on which the BK Elec sub is based has an Fs of 22 Hz. The box is a little on the small side for that driver, but still, it's not very common that a 10" sub can dig deeper than a 12". I guess it makes sense, though, since the 10" Adam sub is vented and the XXLS is sealed.

I think OP ought to spring for the extra £15 and grab a Monolith.

I would also go for the Monolith from BK, but out of those 2 I still would pick the XXLS400 as I have never heard of the Adamn audio and 12" sub is 12" sub.
