Hello community!
I am new to the forum and appreciate your feedback.

I've been wondering something and have been unable to find an answer on my own; I'm hoping you all can help.

I'm looking to purchase a new receiver.. I'm currently looking at the Yamaha Rx-A2070.
Before I purchase, I was wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to save two different user speaker configurations (manually or with YPAO)?
In my room I have 2 locations I sit 50/50 ... A chair that close to my television, and from my bed that is 8 feet behind the chair.

Is it possible to save speaker distance information etc. for both locations, and use a button to switch between the two with this receiver? or any receiver you know of?

I was reading the newer receivers have some customizable user selected presets for default zone/input/volume/DSP mode etc. but, cant determine if the presets are able to save separate Ypao/manual speaker measurements as well.

Thanks in advance,
-J

Good question.
I can’t answer for the Yamaha, but I know my older Pioneer(1019ahk)in my bedroom allows for Up to 6 different mcacc profiles. I’ve never tried from two different listening positions like that though. My onkyo of a similar vintage does not allow for user presets. Have you tried Yamaha’s CS? I would send them an email and see what they say. Or maybe someone here wil know...

I think I've read that YPAO doesn't allow for such but not sure. With Audyssey XT32 you can save the profile file in your computer, but the load time to change is not quick (like 10 minutes or more). Pioneer's MCACC was my first thought for different profiles easily accessed with the push of a button.

Thanks for the responses gentlemen...
I did write an email to Yamaha, never heard back unfortunately; perhaps I should send another.

Give their tech support a call; may be more responsive. ;)

Explore the "Scene" function on the Yamaha 2070. It allows you to save various settings for a particular input and recall those settings with one push of a button. I believe you can save speaker configurations as well. So if it can be done, I'm betting, using the Scene function should do it.
But like mtrycrafts said, call Yamaha. You may have to hold for a bit, but their phone tech support is a good resource. I've use them before with good results.
