I have my rear speakers from my RX three 890 receiver (Yamaha) wired from the right and left to my sub woofer in right and left and then the speakers themselves wired from out ports on my subwoofer is this correct I don't have any paperwork on my Sub.

No, that is not correct. You should use the front L/R speaker connections, not the rear speakers. However, if the sub has a RCA input jack, t would be better to use it, connected to the receiver’s Low Pass output.

The sub is connected to the low Pass output. I have wires from the receiver rear R/L out to the sub R/L in and then from the sub R/L out to the speakers. I have some Pion/Elite for the front speakers. I have an option for a second set of front speakers on the RX-V.

If you have the sub connected via the Low Pass output, there is no reason to use the speaker wire connections. Just connect the rear speakers directly to the receiver.

Confusing setup as to using both a line level and speaker level input on the sub. What sub is it by the way?

The sub is a definitive technologies pro cinema Pro Sub 100. The rear speakers are the definitive technology BP 1X I believe.

Didn't see anything particular searching by that make/model. The 1000 is a model, think 800 and 600 as well....haven't heard of the 100 but maybe that's an older version of the 1000....but there are no models of DefTec subs I've ever seen that I would recommend on the other hand....just not very good subs and their frequency response claims are misleading at best. The question was how particularly its connected to your system, tho....as to whether you're using line level and speaker level inputs simultaneously or what....

I did find some references to the BP1x but not a lot of info...not sure why a better amp would benefit the surrounds particularly, tho.

As Wayne said, there's no reason to do so. I assume you want to use the high pass filtered sub output to feed the rear R/L so the speakers won't get the low frequencies. Assuming the sub outputs are in fact high pass filtered (if so, there usually would be a little toggle filter on/off switch or something like that...) then you have a reason but that still won't be a good reason because you should be able to set the crossover high enough for the rear speakers. It doesn't mean you wired anything wrong as such, just seem unnecessary.
