hi people

Sorry for the really basic question at the bottom end of what most of you do.

I am trying to pick a good wireless speaker to run IPod , IPhone , android devices and take RCA or headphone jack from a HD Tv .... for under $500.

I live in an apartment so my neighbours don’t need 200 Watts ....

So far I looked at ;

Klipsch The Three , connection functionality is there and good reviews

Harmon Kardon Aura - no RCA but good reviews for sound quality- maybe a bit dated ?

Anything else I should look at ?

Thank you folks

For that much money you could pick up a pair of JBL LSR305 powered studio monitors ($200), RCA to 1/4" cables ($10-25) and a decent Bluetooth receiver ($25). These will likely outplay most of the BT ready speakers you'll find for less than $500.

I could put a 2 channel RCA switch connected to the 1/4" speaker inputs then i could switch between bluetooth device inputs or HD TV input i guess.

When they label these " Studio Monitors " , i am assuming they are not poaching the term just for marketing

The XLR input for a MIC suggests these are genuine music studio monitors .

thanks from me , my ears and the stuff in between.

That would work.

You assume correctly. The LSR305s are highly regarded and found in many home recording studios. They aren't $1000/each high-end professional monitors but several long time members of Audioholics use them for smaller spaces where $1000 output monster towers aren't justified or wanted. Note, on the recommendation of members that I respect a lot I bought a set of these.

Note the price in the B&H link is a steeply discounted sale price.

If you prefer a more bass heavy sound then you might consider a pair of KRK Rokit 6G3 for $200ea. I own a set of these 6" monitors as as well. The sound is a bit more bass focused but I like them a lot. I've read that they (and their smaller 5" sibling) are the number one most popular home recording studio monitor.
