I had purchased a Paradigm Seismic 12 back in 2006 or so, worked great for a while then had a low level hum that never seemed to go away even after I sent it back to Paradigm for service.
After giving up on it, I boxed it up, put it in storage, went with GE T1s and never looked back until my current home theater.
I tried everything
1. Behind a cheater plug
2. Various surge and line conditioners
3. Event had a 20Amp Dedicated circuit installed
Hum persisted.
Fast Forward, in my new house
New electrical obviously 200Amp circuit with whole home surge protection
- Took the subwoofer out of the box when I was moving, tested, and now it is dead silent
- I did not change anything from last time, but now it works beautifully
- Not the best sub in the world, but pretty damn good, and its like I got a new subwoofer
I can not figure out what caused the problem in my old house, but it is so strange that it only took a new home to get my subwoofer to stop humming. Glad to see that my 1400 dollar investment was not a total waste, it only took 10 years to fully enjoy lol
