I wanted to follow up:
I just ordered a second set of these speakers when I saw this thread (thanks sholling!).
I ordered before their inventory ran out and received them today.
You never can be sure of color from the computer screen. I was happy to see that the red is a nice shade.
Don't know how to really describe it except to say it is not a bright red, but a more mature red you might get if you took pure red then mixed some black into it...and the matte finish gives it a more sophisticated look IMHO!
The color of Campbell's Tomato soup before you add the water is about the closest thing I can think of that you might be familiar with.
Previously they had a red that I would not like as shown here (and they are $75 each if you local Guitar Center has them in store!).

In my monitor, the ones on the left look like red over black primer or burnt red. The ones on the right, much brighter than fire engine red. More like, streetwalker lipstick red.
