Speakers in Zone 2 low voume.

I installed a Pioneer VSX-LX301 with a new Samsun curved TV. no problem hear with the front, center and main speakers. My problem is, there are for other rooms with celling speakers ( two in each), all the speakers are wired to a Amp Protector and then I have two sets of wires coming from the amp protector that I put into the zone 2 surround sound. Each of the four rooms has a speaker volume switch to control the volume for that room. However the volume is very low and I need to turn the knob all the way to get sound? What could this be?

So you powering 4 Speakers off zone 2 amp? If the wiring isn't of sufficient size, that in conjunction with running 4 Speakers off zone two could be the issue.

We get a lot of posts like this. The basic issue is that receivers are not distribution amps. Those ceiling speaker systems are a PITA anyway. Do you really need those speakers? Would your life be awful without them?

Have you checked the zone 2 volume setting on the Pioneer? Since you have separate controls, I'd set that pretty high on the receiver (not 100% vol IMO) and adjust zones as needed. Even though it is only 2 sets of speakers, I'd likely opt for an external amp for those speakers.
