Is it $200 worth - AVR-X4300H vs AVR-X3300W

FWIW, I've had my new 4300 for about three weeks now. I consistently run it 3-6 hrs per day, avg 65-70 db, with 4 ohm speakers. It's warm at the end of the night, but not hot.

I'm considering picking up a 2-ch amp for my mains, not because I'm worried about heat, but just as a precaution to prolong it's longevity.

Bottom line, the thing is a beast. I couldn't be more pleased.

You can run the 4300 in eco mode, it's said to make the receiver run about 10 degrees cooler.
I have yet to see anything definitive on whether the Eco mode has an audible effect on the sound. I have never detected any. I doubt it, since Denon and Marantz have committed to it across their entire line (and I don't think it is required for another year or two). On the other hand, they give you the option to disable it.
It did compromise the 3300 power tests when AH tested it:
http://www.audioholics.com/av-receiver-reviews/denon-avr-x3300w-1/measurements
(be sure not to get confused with the Yamaha 860 power chart just above the Denon's)
I was disappointed that AH did not further investigate whether Eco had any sonic effect.

However, my understanding is if you use external amplification, the eco mode is a no-brainer - it definitely will not impact the sound.
Personally, as long as my R&L (which do use external amplification) are not compromised when I listen to music, I am not worried about possible HT concerns with center and surrounds, so I would keep it on to keep the heat down.

Should I wait for Black Friday or Cyber Monday to buy one of these receivers?
Do they get extra discounts?

If you wait too long they will run out. $799 for the 4300 us about is good as it's going to get.

I know @DigitalDawn was offering the 3300 for $599, but I'm not sure if that is still a deal.

Either is a great deal and won't last long.

Thank you all I bought the Avr-x3300w. And will be listening to the following subwoofers:
Svs sb-1000, pb-1000 and the rsl10s, I really don't know if I need a subwoofer on my small room.

Thanks again for all your help.

Please let us know which sub you chose and what it was that led you to that decision!
We know a lot of the technical details and performance parameters of these subs, but in the context of someone wanting a modest sub (not sure if you need it) it will be interesting to see which serves you best!

I got the Denon AVR-X3300W and I loved, very good upgrade.

The subwoofers:

So far, my opinion on the subwoofers are:

rsl10s - my favorite one, like the power and the sound. Negative point the size.

sb-1000 - the size is perfect, not powerful as the rsl10s but good enough. Negative point the price.

JBL Studio 550p - the price is awesome. not powerful as the rsl10s.Negative point the size.

pb-1000 - expensive, size is too big, and not powerful as the rsl10s.

Right now, I'm between the rsl10s and the svs sb-1000.

Well had to stop the comparison because of Irma.

Thanks

Glad you got in on the great pricing on the Denon AVR's!

Thanks for sharing your observations on the subs!
Impressive that the RSL Speedwoofer10 seems more powerful than the more expensive and much larger ported SVS sub!
If you had a larger space, I would suggest you consider that you could get dual JBL's for less than a single of any of the others. However, they are quite large for a sealed 10" (larger than the RSL10) and two of them would not be easy to keep "out of the way" in a small room.

For the RSL10, you said you like the power and the sound. You do not mention the sound specifically for any others. Does this mean you felt the RSL10 had better sound?

I would welcome whatever subjective impressions you had on sound quality, and if you noticed no significant differences, that would be useful to know as well!

As expected, it seems the X4000 & upper models don't heat up as much as the X3000 and lower models.

Taking into consideration:
Size
Quality with music and movies
Price

I choose the RSL10, if the PB-1000 was smaller or the sb-1000 cheaper probably I will choose them.

Thanks for all your help
