No sound with Netflx

With all your help I purchased a new home system. Denon AVR X3300W Receiver, 4) RBH-R55Ti Tower, a) 1-12/e Sub., a) R56Ci center. I connected it all to a Samsung UN 65 F 7100 HDTV.
I just clicked on Netflix for the first time since setting it up a few weeks ago and I get no sound from Netflix unless I turn on the HDTV Speakers, and bypass the receiver,
My old system just went to the correct audio.
I'm sure I don't have a wire in the correct place (optic) maybe?
I guess you will need a photo of the wiring?

Are you using your receiver for all of your source switching? As in, you have all sources going to your receiver and only one HDMI out for your monitor? Or are you using your TV to switch sources? The former is definitely the preferred way, in my opinion.

All input sources should be connected to the receiver ONLY. Is that how you have it?

You guys are funny.

If netflix is coming from the TV app you'll have to enable ARC on the receiver and make sure that setting is enabled on the TV. Then you can get DD+ from netflix.

There is probably a specific HDMI port on your TV that supports ARC so make sure that is the one plugged into your receiver.

I guess I have to go buy a new Optic cable and run it from the TV to the Receiver?

You can do that. Did you check your settings on your TV and receiver? I think my receiver and tv both require me to turn arc on for it to work.

If you've confirmed proper settings on both TV and AVR, and even tried a power off, disconnect reconnect, of the HDMI then yeah optical would be worth a try.

HDMI is really a dreadful solution for us consumers, and this thread is an example of why!

I just went and checked everything I could and its set correct, so the only thing that's different from my old setup is the optic out from the TV. I'll have to unplug the Blu-ray player and use that port when not in use.
Thanks Guys

One other quick question, after about 30 mins. of TV on I get this stupid screen and I have to switch the source back to Sat.

here is a photo of the wires
You already seem to have connected some Optical cable to the TV port of digital audio in. Hope its not interfering with ARC.

I don't leave any Bluetooth connections active when not being used. If your home has a shared wall, 'Blue Jacking' is a real thing and is amazingly easy to do.

And leaving it off should eliminate this message, since you obviously leave your phone BT off.
