Hello, I want to bi-amp a pair of Klipsch RF63's with my Sunfire Ultimate, just to see the difference if any. Experimenting with your gear is part of the fun!!! Is this posible using the optical input?? Do I have to switch to analog inputs?? Is it possible at all??? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

The optical input has nothing to do with whether or not you configure biamp for the speakers. Can you reassign the zone2/side channels for biamping? If not, you have to use an external amp to do this.

I wouldn't bother. I've played around with bi amping and I can't tell a difference whatsoever.

Passive biamping, especially with the same power supply, is pretty pointless. You do not gain SPL, and unless you have active crossovers, will have little to no audible change in sound quality.

I agree with you all, a little experimenting is fun though. I can't reassign the the zone 2 for bi-amping, so what I was looking for was a possible option using only the AVR, not a separate amp. I guess it was not designed to do this.

Thanks
