Advice on DIYSG Speakers flush mounted in a "fake wall"

First post here and I'm excited to be starting my home theater build!

I want to purchase my speakers from DIYSG (Cinema 8"s & Fusion 8...all front ported) and install them so they are flush to a fake wall. I really want a clean look but I'm concerned about adverse audio effects such as baffle step compensation issues. Do I need to make a custom crossover or will I be fine? I just bought a MiniDSP NanoAVR HDA...will this be able to correct any speaker response issues?

I should mention that I also got two of the new SI HT 18v2's that will also be in the same wall in 4 cuft sealed boxes

Thanks ya'll!!

I would say definitely BSC issues and the fusion-8 and the other SEOS waveguides typically work better with toe-in, at least with two speaker systems without a center channel.

Speakers are cooler looking than walls. :)

What do you think about sticking the speakers out a couple of inches and putting a foam surround around them?

I don't think that would work. As it is, the Fusion series of speakers have round-overs on the front baffles. Whether that is part of the BSC goal with the speakers, I don't know, but to be honest, it seems you are really going to have to go with an in-wall solution. That not only addresses that configuration, but also designed for either a single, or double sided wall, or somewhere between that and open baffle if I am understanding what you are trying to accomplish here.

If I had to have it flush, I would design pockets for the speakers to sit in when not in use, with the bottom that slides out on drawer slides bringng the speakers out into the room when in use. All hooked up with servos to where they would come out at the touch of a button. I would then name it, Paul's magic wall. :D

Hahaha...The magic wall...that would be awesome! I really want to find a way to make this work so I might look into crossover designs that accommodate for such a situation.
