I bow down to the knowledge in this room. Do you guys have a suggestion as to how much I should ask for a Bose 1801w/ VU and 82 lbs? One owner, me. One channel gone. Board looks burned. Circa 1975. Used to power 2- JBL100. Thank you so much.

Seriously, I have no life.
I bow down to the knowledge in this room. Do you guys have a suggestion as to how much I should ask for a Bose 1801w/ VU and 82 lbs? One owner, me. One channel gone. Board looks burned. Circa 1975. Used to power 2- JBL100. Thank you so much.
This seems a common story with those amps.

"This unit had one channel defective. A hot resistor melted the solder and two output transistors blew. A common problem for these amps is a zener diode which shorts and causes a resistor to flare up therefore damaging the printed circuit board, making the amp unusable. Bose does not sell these proprietary parts anymore which makes' it difficult to fix."

So if the board is damaged like you say, then you have a mono amp. The only use for that amp would be as a mono amp with the fuses removed to the burnt channel.

The other channel will likely soon follow with this disaster.

I would say the amp is worth next to nothing. It is so heavy freight will be more than it is worth.

The recycling center is probably its fate.
