Help with Preamplifing/Amplifing Polk RTiA9's

Hey I'm pretty new at this and I have a few questions.
I've just purchased the Polk RTiA9's and matching Polk speakers (CSiA6, FXiA6), but have yet to get a sub. Also, I got the Marantz SR-5011 receiver to power the system. Allegedly, the RtiA9's require lots of power to sound good, so I'm thinking of investing in an amplifier/amplifier.

The first question is what's the difference between an amplifier and an amplifier.

Next, are the amplifier's on this website (I live in Canada) any good?

If not, are there any that are decent that I could get for less than 500?

Also, are there any good subs, besides the SVS PB-1000 (many people are recommending this one), that I should be looking into, that are hopefully a little cheaper than the SVS?

Thanks.

The Crown XLS1502 will have all the power your RTiA9 needs, or get one from Monoprice.

You don't need a preamp, just use the pre outs on the SR-5011.

The PB1000 is suitable for a small room, what is your room dimensions?

It's in the basement, and the room is kinda weird, as my basement is pretty open. The room is 25x20, but its very open to the other rooms (kinda hard to explain). The SVS is out of my budget right now, which is why I haven't picked up a sub yet.

In that case probably should just get the Crown XLS1502 and forget about the subs for now.

Cheaper isn't going to work in terms of sub in a room that size. I'd look at the HSU VTF-2 Mk5 because it is rated for larger rooms by AH.

I thought about mentioning the RSL Speedwoofer, but that's a pretty big room. It's a solid little budget sub tho.
Yeah, a bit small for that size space. Also wonder if you can even source RSL in Canada?

@Arjav how have the speakers been with the avr alone? At least that's how I would have started before buying an external amp, altho I would agree using your 5011 as pre and a Crown XLS would be a good way to go. Definitely save up some money for a significant sub or two for a space that size....

One of the humps I had to get over was coming to the realization that a good chunk of my budget needed to go toward subs if I wanted a system that would do what I want in my large room. Good subwoofage is often underrated. A good sub (or 2) can make a huge difference in your sq and spl.
