LG Soundbar Subwoofer problem

Hi folks

I had purchased an lg sound bar las751m for last thanks giving which comes with a wireless subwoofer .As soon the warranty expired,my sub stopped producing any sound.I took it to the Lg authorized repair center and they told me the repairing will cost me more than the current price of the model itself. And also they said I cannot just buy any other subwoofer and hook up with this module as it has a receiver inside the sound bar which is paired with only one sub. Is there a way that I can still use my sound bar with another subwoofer?? I have an hdmi output to the sound bar and can I connect it to any subwoofer with hdmi input and will that work? Looking for some suggestions from experts..

Even if your soundbar has an hdmi output it's not for a sub. Sub's don't have hdmi inputs. Most subs don't have a digital input at all, just analog.

ps While probably won't change anything in your case, post up specific make/model of gear you're asking about....

You are out of luck connecting any other sub to that rig. There are no analog outputs.

You have learned a lesson. You need to avoid that sort of junk.

Get yourself a receiver, decent speakers and a good sub.

You don't understand. Using your sound bar at all will be difficult. If you have a receiver, you would connect sound bar to the TV via HDMI ARC out to the sound bar ARC in and the sound bar HDMI ARC out to the receiver ARC in and receiver sub out to the sub. I don't think this will work at all well though, as you will have to adjust sound bar and receiver volume independantly all the time. Due to HDMI compatibility issues this may not work at all. That dreadful LG contraption has no analog in or outs, and therefore has really zero versatility.

To be honest that whole LG contraption needs to go to the recycling center. Unfortunately you just made a terrible purchase and need to cut your losses.

Best advice is to put up with the TV speakers or put together a decent component system like I suggested and totally forget about driving speakers via Wi-Fi. Cables are far superior.
