Netflix/ARC question

What is the best audio function or option to watch Netflix if Netflix is via a smart TV? (also, read below for option B!)
I have a Yamaha RX-A1060 and my Vizeo TV has ARC. But I do not know how that works with NF. Currently, my TV is connected via an optical cable for this purpose. When I set up the AVR with my android tablet, I set the TV sound up as as just another audio device (for this purpose only, plus I have an outdoor antenna that I use once in a while just because it is there). I have a cable box and DVD player hdmi cables connected to the AVR and an hdmi to the tv, of course. But I cannot figure out the function to allow TV audio to come via the hdmi. I am at a loss if this has something to do with ARC and how to set that up.
Now option B (that I have not used yet) is that I do have a ROKU device with hdmi output. I would prefer to use the TV, but please tell me if I should go with option B. I appreciate your help a lot! This is a fabulous forum!

What specific tv? If you're getting multi-ch audio via optical I wouldn't bother with ARC as they basically have the same capability, ARC implementation could bring unwanted switching issues when mixing different brands' implementation of ARC (HDMI-CEC). NF app in your smart tv may be limited to 2.0, it is in mine. The tv may limit output, aside from OTA (over the air) reception, to 2.0 output, as it is with my tv. You may need to enable HDMI control options in both the tv and avr to get ARC functioning....

It is an E600i Vizio. In your opinion, shall I just continue with my current set-up? It's fine, I like it this way, but wasn't sure I had it set up for the best audio performance.

I think you're good. The audio performance will be the same depending on the tv and what it does with apps/OTA/hdmi input for multi-ch audio....
