Thinking to buy this IR Remote Repeater to control A/V equipment. I am wondering what's your idea to hide those cables if you happen to have a IR remote control as well? Does it really work well if the devices are put behind a closed cabinet or in other room? Is it universal and works with URC MX-450? Thanks.

I've used IR repeaters for years and haven't had very many issues. ( plasma displays used to cause some) it's a solid option for control. Remember to bring the or cables over the top of the electronics not under and I used a glue gun to tack the them down .

Yes indeed, the whole idea and purpose of an IR repeater is for situations where the equipment isn’t up front at the TV – behind or to the side of the seating, in an enclosed cabinet or in another room . And they don’t care what the remote is, as long as it’s an IR remote.

Wow..
I have no idea about that product looks good but no brand... :(
In our AV install biz we use alot of Xantech repeaters which part of CoreBrands who own Niles, Elan, SpeakerCraft, Panamax. That mentioned URC remote is top notch but I cannot validate the posted repeater.. But then again its cheap and Amazon has a liberal return policy..

Just my $0.02... ;)
