DTS Decoder.........

I'm now using a Yamaha DSP-A2070, 7.2 channel Integrated Amp, it has no DTS but only Pro Logic II. My Old Denon AVR-1800 with DTS and Dolby Digital 5.1, broke down and can not be repaired anymore. Is there a separate DTS decoder or unit that I can plug-in to My Yamaha so I can play my DVD's/CD's with DTS platform? Kindly inform me on this subject.

Does your player have analog outs for each channel to simply plug into your amp? How did you connect the Denon to the Yamaha unit before?

What model Panasonic blu-ray player model is it? What is your speaker setup? 2.0? 5.1?

I downloaded a manual for your Yamaha unit and don't see it has the necessary inputs you're looking for even if you used an avr with pre-outs or a dedicated pre-amp/processor.

My player is a Panasonic BluRay, I used to connect it to my Denon by Toslink(audio), and the video coming from the player is by HDMI directly to the TV. Denon and Yamaha were never connected. Yamaha has no DTS flatform and can't process the DTS from a DVD/Bluray player. Denon has no more use now. Is there a separate DTS decoder unit that I can connect between My player and Yamaha so the Yamaha can reproduce the DTS sound coming from the PLayer? Yamaha has no DTS flatform. Panasonic Bluray DMP-BD80. I have now a 7.1 on the Yamaha.

The player has full 7.1 analog output but your amp doesn't have the appropriate inputs, either digital or analog, from what I see in its manual, it's more about matrixing 2ch to multi-ch audio than simply passing it thru from what I see.

I think it's simply time for a new 7ch avr with the amp/features you need to complement your 7.1 speaker setup so you can get all there is on that blu-ray disc. Even with your optical connection you weren't getting that....you need hdmi for that.

The only way to get surround with proper channel mapping preserved is to set your player to down mix into Dolby surround, which all players can do. Prologic II does an okay job, but it's a far cry from discrete multi channel
