I am new at all of this, and sorry if I a make some mistakes in writing because I don't know English very well. I am wondering which cables to use for this speakers and what kind of amplifier to use, if is that correct name for what I asking. I bought 2 Kenwood JL-850 box speakers, and now I am looking for control unit because I bought just speakers, also I can upload some pictures of them. They working on 8 ohms, 180 W, 35-20kHz, if someone can give me suggestion what will wotk best with this speakers and is this speakers ok or not, i mean is they good speakers or avarege ? Thanks a lot

You should be able to get very loud results out of them even with 30w amp(8ohm)
I'd get something vintage like 70's Marantz Stereo receiver to power these
If you paid around $50 for a pair - you've got a good deal
These speakers won't be able to compete with more modern designs, but unless they have damaged parts should sound ok.

Hello Nemanja, and welcome.

You can just use standard lamp cord or speaker wire -- 1.29mm or thicker, to attach these speakers to an amp or receiver. For amplifier, you'll get the best value from a home theater receiver, but the speakers will work fine attached to any home audio receiver or amp. What sources do you intend to use for music or movies? CD player? Computer? Record player? Whatever receiver you choose, make sure it has enough inputs to allow you to plug in all your stuff.

The speakers appear to be old, but still ought to make pretty good sound.

As was mentioned already, simple lamp cord will do the job and is available at most hardware stores.
An AVR receiver may be your best best for price performance depending on your music sources.
What do you plan on using the speakers for? Primarily music? Movies? A mix of things? From what sources?

You'll get a lot of good suggestions here. You are only limited by your budget and imagination as to what you can accomplish.

Wooow, I really don't expect answer like this fast. Thanks a lot all of you guys, I am really appreciate taking your time to answer me. I would like to use this for music and sometimes for movies, I would like to get the most of them for music because I want to use them at one bigger room for party's.

They are in very good condition and I try them on one Sony system and they working but I looking if you can give specific example of which amplifier to use (if you can send me a link or name for what to looking) I don't know to much about speakers but I know I need to use 20-30 % lower power amplifier than speakers what's mean I need amplifier on 120-150 w per channel, is that correct ?
I bought pair of this speakers and also one more pair of pioneer, 150w, 8 ohms and 32hz-20khz

And also what you think which one is better, I am more for Kenwood. I don't know what is a good price for this 4 speakers but I bought them for 60$

I think they look like they're in great shape. Did you pay 60 for all 4? If so, then you got a very good deal. Pretty much any type of amplifier will power those Kenwoods to a pretty loud level. I can't see you needing anything more than 80 or 100 watts per channel to drive them. are you planning to use all 4 speakers for movies? If so I'd suggest a receiver from Denon, Marantz or Yamaha. What all do you have right now besides the speakers? Tv? CD player? Blu Ray player?

I'd get them up off the floor for your parties. Say about the middle of the speaker at ear level. Especially if it's a party with folks standing or dancing.

You seem to want to go with a Sony Receiver. I have a Sony STR-DN1050 and two Denon setups (and had 2 older Sony's in my past life. All have been good.) so I know these OEMs a fair bit.

If you are headed to Sony, and want Bluetooth and WiFi you need to move up at least one level from the above STDH550 towards a STR-DH770 for Bluetooth, and into at least a STR-DN850 for both Bluetooth and WiFi.

Sony's recent model history has them change a digit in the model number each year. There are some changes each year. For example the STR-DN1030 became the STR-DN1040, then STR-DN1050, then STR-DN1060, then STR-DN1070, and now the STR-DN1080.

Seeing as you went for some deals on your Speakers buying them used, you could save a bundle doing the same with a receiver. (I bought both my Denon receivers used.) For a used Sony look for the STR-DN1050 as it should suit your needs and be less than half retail by now.

Or, we don't know what country you are from so please advise, there is a good deal on a Denon AVR-S720W at Accesories4less for $290 with a 2 year warranty but => Sold exclusively within the US only. No shipments allowed outside the US!

Jim's reply seems to have everything you need for advice. I'm not a fan of Sony receivers, but they will get the job done for you. Used is perfectly fine since you went used with your speakers. I can't give purchase specifics because I don't know what country you reside in. Just hooking up 2 speakers in plain stereo would be the way to begin. See what that sounds like and move on from there.

Part of the fun in the audio hobby is experimenting and trying out new combinations of equipment. Don't be afraid to try different things out. Its the way we all learned at the beginning.

I would only use all 4 if you're watching a movie or something that utilizes surround sound. for regular music listening, yes, just 2 speakers.
