(2) SVS PC-2000 or (2) SVS SB-13 Ultras?

I'm trying to decide on which would be better. I've seen the threads on the PC-13 vs the SB-13 but what about the PC-2000 vs the SB-13? Anyone have thoughts?

I would say if the application is music, or if you are in a small room, go for the SB-13s. But if you are in a medium to large room and want the deep bass for movies, for the PC-2000s.

Setup is in a living room that's 1400 cubic feet (roughly 12'x15') but it has a 6' wide opening to the kitchen on one side plus stairs leading up to the second floor in the back of the room

You might also consider a pair of SB16-Ultras. The PC-2000s will have a deep bass output advantage over the SB13s but not so much the SB16s. The SB16s have most of the deep bass of the PC-2000 with more mid-bass than the SB13.

Pressuring 1400 even a single PC2000 would be more than enough.
The real issue is that opening. It would be next to impossible to predict how much sub you'll need to pressurise the space.
SVS makes very high quality subs, offers one of industry best customer services, warranty and shipping, but these things are not free. All of these are built-in price of their units. More so on higher end models like SB-13.
If you like a very powerful bass - you may want consider an better value/performance alternative:

PC2000 is real nice sub, but not even in same league as HSU's vtf-3mk5

I can vouch for the Hsu's. I have a pair in a ~5900^3 room and they're plenty. They sound very good for music too. Having the ability to tune them in so many ways is really nice. It really is like buying 3 subs in one.

I cannot purchase a different brand. I have the SVS PC-2000's currently and I like them a lot. I can upgrade to the SB13s but I'm just wondering if it's worth it.

How we to know for sure is YOU like the bass in YOUR room? Do you think you get sufficient chest bumping on low bass passages? I know I could feel very low bass and I get sort of chills on my body.

Another way is to measure it using REW and good measuring microphone (dayton or umic, both available as usb versions)

These are only two way to know for sure if you need or want more bass (subjective or objective) SB13 is a very good sub, but it's not direct upgrade from pc2000, this is what you'd want if you're looking to upgrade:

Just read through your setup. I have Ultra bookshelves too. Love 'em.

BSA has a great recommendation with the PC12. I would also say the PB13 Ultra would be a more significant upgrade than the SB13. They have a few in their outlet , $200 off regular retail.

I just hooked up the SB13 Ultras in place of the PC-2000's. Now I have not dialed them in yet and I'm just using the same settings from the PC-2000s but...
OH MY!!! The difference is tremendous so far! While waiting for FedEx I put in Mad Max with the PC-2000's to get a feel for what I'm working with at this time. Now I'm playing the same passages with the SB13 Ultra. So far (15 minutes in to the switch) I'm very, very pleased! Upgrading from two PC-2000s to two SB13 Ultras is totally worth it in my book. I'm going to re run the calibration and see what I get
