Hi, I would like to how to make this receiver 9.2 and 7.2.1 Dolby Atmos with the AMP 100 power amp. I would like a diagram or pic of how to do it if possible. Thanks.

It doesn't look to be but a 7ch avr and doesn't have the processing for the number of channels you want.

Hi, well, I know it has the pre-outs for an external amp and I found a site that tells how to hook the amp up to it. I understand it won't play a true surround sound from the extra 2 speakers but it will add to the sound overall. It's just the price of the 9.2 receivers with Atmos and dts:x that gets me. I may when they come down some. Thanks.

You can add some duplicate channels with the pre-outs I imagine, but you may have acoustic issues in doing so. It just won't be true 9.2 and definitely not Atmos or dts:x capable using such extra channels alone. Those prices are sure to fall. I have an 11.2 avr (9 amps on board) and waited until everyone was buying 4k/atmos stuff as I wasn't going in that direction, saved a bunch of money. Something similar is sure to happen in avr world of churn :)

K, thanks a lot for the info. So, how does the 11.2 non Atmos avrs do the surround sound with no 11.2 content? Just curious, thanks.

Same as nonexistent 9ch content :) Matrixed by one of the available sound modes; in the 9ch that I'm using it as now I can do it either with a dolby or dts or audyssey format, sometimes a combo, believe the same choices in 11ch but haven't gotten to that yet.
