Any HDMI source through Onkyo TX-NR626 has terrible static on screen?

I have had a Onkyo TX-NR626 for two years. I just upgraded my TV from a Samsung LN40C500F3F 1080p to a Hisense 55H8C 4k UHD. There is a small amount of static that flickers on the screen and a very prominent band of static down the left side.

I have plugged sources directly into the TV HDMIs and they all look good. But any source (PS3, Chromecast, etc.) running through the Onkyo receiver has the same static snow noise, no matter which HDMI on the TV or receiver is being used.

However, if I select a source on the receiver with no HDMI input, the screen looks fine. For example, I have nothing plugged into the HDMI port for BD/DVD, so the screen is blue with no static at all. I can navigate the Onkyo menus and everything looks great.

It's disappointing because this TV is a big upgrade for me, but any HDMI source I try to run through the Onkyo looks terrible.

Any idea what the problem is?

Edit: It was just something weird with a HDMI cable. I switched two cables and it looks glorious now. I checked all connections before. Strange thing is both cables are still in use now, but everything looks fine. Oh well. Sorry to bother.

I suspect the problem is that it a Highstupidity TV. The online manuals are awful. It does say that in the downloadable user manual that two of the HDMI inputs are 2.0 and two 1.4. However it does not say which is which. In the quick start guide, it labels all HDMI inputs as 2.0 and in the spec. sheet. Now the ports should be backward compatible. It says the HDMI is certified but does not say by whom. I suspect they did it and that is useless.

There is now a whole new raft of HDMI issues.

The instruction manual is silent on how to change screen resolution and may be you can't.

There is no mention of using this TV with a receiver whose HDMI architecture is a little different from BD players etc since they are receiving and sending devices.

You will need to contact Highstupidity and see what they have to say. Good luck with that.

That does not surprise me. No apologies needed. I've had HDMI cables go wonky on me.
