I would appreciate any help with the following. I'm having trouble with a Yamaha RXV377 AV receiver. I have had it for a little over a year and a half and now it is acting up. I'll be watching a movie and the picture on the TV goes blank, sound goes off too. The receivers displays start blinking. The picture comes back on and sound is restored often after a few seconds. This will happen multiple times in a short time frame and then not do it again for quite some time.. I bought a new Sony Blu Ray player (200 bucks) to replace a cheapie Samusung, hoping this was the problem. I did not experience this issue for about 4 hours of viewing with the new player until last night when it really went to town. It shut down about six times in ten minutes. Do I need a new receiver? Could it be a cable has gone bad? Any insight would be appreciated as well on what to replace it with. I would prefer to keep the cost under 500 as it is in my secondary system. I have old Energy take 5 speakers and a Boston Acoustics sub. Thanks.
