I have just developed this problem ... my Yamaha Rx-v479 skips when streaming music via bluetooth. It didn't use to do this, but is now. It doesn't matter if I am using pandora or just the music on my phone. I don't have that problem when watching tv or using the dvd ... so it must be the bluetooth. Is there a solution?

There often isn't a good solution for this type of issue. You can try a firmware update, but that may not fix it, or it may be an isolated issue. I recently ran into a Denon receiver that no longer worked with Pandora. Turns out Denon needed a firmware update to fix it, which they hadn't released yet.

My typical recommendation is to let your A/V receiver be a switcher/amplifier. If you want reliable Bluetooth, then get a stand alone Bluetooth device to plug into your receiver. They tend to have better long-term support and are often more reliable right out of the box. The IP based streaming devices, such as Chromecast and Airplay tend to do even better, as do Sonos devices (much more for Sonos though!).

Yamaha should work for what it says it does, but if you are having issues, then you may end up waiting a very long time for them to take care of it, if they ever do.

I'd at least try soft resets of your phone and avr to start. Maybe even a full processor reset on the avr. Might also try using something like bubbleupnp app on your phone and use dlna to stream to your avr? I don't think that would help with Pandora, but doesn't the avr have its own Pandora app?

Thank you much for your help. I did figure out how to use airplay and the sound is so much better! Sure appreciate the help.
