Dolby EX and DTS ES dead?

After browsing the websites of the major home audio manufactures I noticed that Dolby EX is no longer supported in addition to DTS ES. Are these formats “Dead”?

It has been some time since those were the standards. Not supported is incorrect - they have simply been replaced by newer formats and those formats are all backwards compatible to core DTS and DD. You now have TrueHD and Atmos on DD side and DTS-HD MA and DTS-X on the dts side.

I must conclude that audio manufactures are no longer making NEW equipment that decodes Dolby EX and DTS ES anymore. It looks like these formats have been superseded by the new formats from Dolby and DTS.

That is correct except that they are still supported. No movies have been released in those formats in a long time either...

These formats are still being supported by the manufacturers of bluray players, dvd players, and AVR manufacturers . Just firming up on your statement.
