Only vaguely stated in your post, but it looks like your current HSU sub is physically too large and you want a smaller one, but you’re concerned the Paradigm has too much power?

It’s a simple matter of physics that in order for a sub with a smaller enclosure to perform on par with one in a larger enclosure, more excursion from the cone is needed as is more amplifier power. So there’s no reason to be concerned about the Paradigm’s scary power rating.

In any event, just because a sub has a gazillion watts that doesn’t mean you are required to utilize them all. It’s always better to have more performance potential than you need than to not have enough and the sub bottoms out all the time and makes rude noises.

I am guessing the Paradigm Seismic 12 will be able to get louder above 30 Hz or so, but not massively so. It definitely will not be overkill. The VTF2 mk3 is a very high value sub, and I doubt that the Seismic 12 has a big performance advantage over it. It you need a sub that saves space without giving up too much performance the Seismic 12 looks like a decent choice, although a bit expensive for what you are getting performance wise. You might also look at the Golden Ear super subs.

One more thing, if you can trade height and depth for width compared to your current sub, you might look at the Hsu ULS-15 mk2. It is wider than the VTF2 but not as tall or as deep. It will massively outperform the VTF2 and the Paradigm sub.

Assuming 9ft ceiling that's 4032 cu ft need to pressurized. To do so with sealed sub, you'd need to go with much more powerful sub than any Klipsch ever made. Paradigm subs are good, but they are terrible value even at 1/2 price.
If you want to go with sealed sub(s) which would be good fit for your room, I'd suggest these options:

I think this might do it for you. a pair of these, or 1 to start.

I just got a pair of these, the 2000's little brother, and couldn't be happier. I love them. the one linked above is a significant step up. still compact, more powerful, very clean, and more importantly for you - sealed.

a Google search and eBay turned up squat for sale. that sub was part of a paradigm discontinued special edition (SE) speaker package? good luck finding one. you could try contacting paradigm and ask if there are any other models that would make a good match.

if you would consider upgrading or a different sub, the ones mentioned earlier are all winners. the ones I mentioned in my post would leave the smallest footprint, but still sound amazing. especially if you get 2 of them.
